Surf Report For Muriwai Beach, Beginner & Intermediate Surfers 17th and 18th October!
The swell drops off after big waves on Friday making the weekend look pretty fun for beginners and the odd window for intermediate surfers! High tide is around mid afternoon so aim for a post lunch surf for best and safest conditions.

Saturday 17th October
Swell - 2.5m - 1.6m or 5 - 8ft
Wind - 15 - 20knts Southerly
High Tide - 2.42pm
Low Tide - 8.21am
The swell is likely to be big in the morning but will drop off all day, with the low tide at 8.30am(ish) skip the AM and come out around lunch time for the mid tide coming in.
Beginners - The sand banks have been friendly for learning the last few weeks so expect some nice waves for beginners on the mid tide from about 11am onwards. There will be a bit of wind from the south but we should be a little sheltered from the wind in the southern corner of the beach.
Look Out!! Skip the AM if possible, 11am onwards will be fine.
Advanced Beginners - Give it a little more tide than the beginners, maybe midday onwards.
Look Out!! Skip the low tide in the morning.
Intermediates - Look for bang on high, 2pm - 4pm!
Look Out!! Skip the low tide before midday.
Sunday 18th October
Swell - 1.5 - 1.2m or 4 - 5ft
Wind - 15 - 18knts Southerly
High Tide - 3.43pm
Low Tide - 9.17am
Sunday has less swell and wind than Saturday so it will be the better option for this weekend. Similar advice to Saturday, wait until after midday and you will find some fun waves!
Beginners - Mid tide coming in will have some fun waves for learning. I'd aim to bet in the water after midday.
Look Out!! Skip the low tide in the morning.
Advanced Beginners - Anytime from 1pm - 5pm should have fun reforms.
Look Out!! Skip the morning on the lower tide.
Intermediates - High tide is the best bet, 2pm - 5pm is my pick.
Look Out!! Skip low tide.
