Muriwai Beach Surf Report For Beginner & Intermediate Surfers 6th & 7th December

Light winds and high tide in the middle of the day mean that there will be some really fun waves this weekend.
Saturday 6th December
Swell - 1.3 - 1.6m or 4 - 5ft
Wind - 7knts South, South West
High Tide - 11.12am
Low Tide - 5.25pm
If you can make it out on the right tide you’ll score really fun waves! The mid tide will be awesome for beginners and around the high tide should have reforms for advanced beginner and intermediate surfers.
Beginners - It looks like a really good, safe day for learning! The mid tide will be most friendly - 8am - 11am or midday - 3.30pm. That high tide period 11am - midday will still be fun but just expect a bit more power in the surf.
Look Out!! Skip the lower tide in the late arvo - 4pm onwards.
Advanced Beginners - There will be some fun waves on the mid to high tide, 8am - 2pm looks the best. High tide will have bigger more powerful reforms with mid tide being a little more mellow.
Look Out!! Avoid the low tide in the evening.
Intermediates - The same as AB, mid to high tide is the go!
Look Out!! Skip low tide.
Sunday 7th December
Swell - 1.9m or 5 - 6ft
Wind - 1 - 8knts South East, South West
High Tide - 11.59am
Low Tide - 6.14pm
More swell than Saturday, but that shouldn't matter with the inside having some good sand banks for beginners and intermediates. The wind looks like it could be very light offshore in the morning turning South West but it's so light it should be glassy and clean all day.
Beginners - Pretty much the same as Saturday, expect excellent beginner waves on the mid tide. Pretty much all day looks fun, 8am - 4pm will be best.
Look Out!! Avoid the low tide and just be aware that it's a big tide so right on high will have lots of power.
Advanced Beginners - Sunday morning looks like it will be really fun, mid tide coming in with light winds and possibly glassy conditions. 9am onwards will be best.
Look Out!! Dodge the low tide unless you want the beat down.
Intermediates - The same as AB, Sunday morning looks fun for intermediates.
Look Out!! Skip low tide.
