It's looking like there should be some really nice surf this weekend, the swell is dropping and the wind going offshore. Both days will be great for beginners but Sunday looks like the better day for advanced beginner and intermediate surfers

Saturday 17th January
Swell - 1.5m - 1.3m or 3 - 4ft
Wind - 10knts Southerly across-shore
High Tide - 10.09am
Low Tide - 4.27pm
Moderate across-shore winds will mean there will be a little bump on the wave face. The waves will be excellent for learning in the morning with the high tide.
Beginners - Really nice conditions for learning on Saturday morning. High tide is just after 10am so the best conditions will be between 7am and 1pm.
Look Out!! Avoid the lower tide (after 2.30pm) and look out for the rip in front of the lifeguard tower.
Advanced Beginners - High tide will be best, 8am - midday should have some nice waves for progressing on!
Look Out!! Avoid the low tide in the arvo.
Intermediates - High tide will be fun but there's also been a mid tide rip bank for those that are strong paddlers.
Look Out!! Skip the low in the arvo as it might be a bit gnarly.
Sunday 18th January
Swell - 1.2m - 0.9m or 2 - 3ft
Wind - 12 - 20knts South Easterly off-shore
High Tide - 10.48am
Low Tide - 5.07pm
It's looking like a really fun day for waves! The swell is dropping and the wind is pretty strong off-shore but both of those things should make for a great Sunday of waves. Again the morning will be best with the higher tide.
Beginners - If you surf anytime between 8am - 2pm you'll get some super fun beginner waves.
Look Out!! Cover your head when you wipeout, when the surf's strong off-shore it's more likely to have the surfboard blow back towards you.
Advanced Beginners - The same as beginners, Except really fun waves around the high tide.
Look Out!! Avoid low tide.
Intermediates - Find a moment with less wind and you'll score pumping waves! It looks like a great day to be a intermediate surfer!
Look Out!! Keep checking your markers when you're sitting out the back. The off-shore wind can blow you around when you're sitting waiting for sets.
